During the second half of 2021, Mazur Ivanusa, LLC have successfully handled a number of matters in various practice sectors including tax, real estate, corporate and commercial.
For example, certain highlights from the last year include the following matters:
- Tax practice chaired by Dmytro Ivanusa assisted a Ukrainian reseller of construction materials in its dispute with the Ukrainian tax authorities. The dispute has arisen due to blocking by the local tax authorities of a VAT bill issued by our client for amount of UAH3.3 million. This matter was successfully resolved in the local court. Overall, in 2021 we successfully handled more than 20 tax related disputes for an aggregate amount exceeding UAH 396 million;
- The team of lawyers led by Dmytro Ivanusa continued to be active in real estate and successfully represented a large Swiss real estate investor in connection with a comprehensive due diligence and acquisition of a number commercial real estate objects in Kyiv;
- On the corporate side, our attorneys provided full advice to a large Israeli investor on vendor due diligence, merger control issues and sale of the part of its shares (participatory interests) in a Ukrainian limited liability company engaged in internet advertisement;
- Further, we successfully advised Ukrainian group of companies on establishing a trading company in Poland. Among others, this assignment included obtaining the Polish e-signatures and confirmation of identities of Ukrainian beneficiaries;
- Finally, the Firm was active in resolution of various commercial disputes. For example, Mazur Ivanusa, LLC represented a large network of restaurants in its dispute regarding lease fees and communal payments during the COVID quarantine introduced by the Ukrainian government. Our attorneys have successfully resolved this dispute in the local court. The team of lawyers in this case was headed by Dmytro Ivanusa, Partner.
